Frequently Asked Questions
You are nuts, right?
Probably!
What is Dadurday?
Dadurday quite simply is about making memories. Memories that will be remembered by you and your children for years to come and help to strengthen a father-son or father-daughter bond that can sometimes be difficult to prioritize because of life’s daily demands. Dadurday is really a passion project, and its future form is fluid. We simply want to create fun opportunities to bring together great dads, their children, while providing the additional benefit of providing a brief respite for the mothers. Got an idea for a future event or Dadurday initiative, let us know.
What is the best age for children to participate?
There is no official age range for kids, but most of the kids that have participated are between 4-12. The best way to ensure fun for the kids is to recruit some of their friends’ dads, so they have a familiar circle of friends to share in the experience.
What should I expect?
Expect to have fun and bring plenty of cash and credit cards. Dadurday is a day to say yes to your child. Get the huge bucket of popcorn, buy the lightup sparkle baton. We are dads, so we tend to be light on the formal agenda and big on the fun.
What does my fee cover?
Generally, fees cover the bus ride, any pregame food and beverage, and possibly event tickets. We do not offer tickets for UGA games, but we will get group tickets for other events when possible. Food and beverage for the bus rides should be provided by the dad.
How do I join Dadurday?
Get a referral from a Member Dad and sign up before all the slots are gone!
What time do the buses return home?
For most events, it’s somewhere around 10pm. However, this will be determined by event times and the logistics around departure.
Is there a waiver?
There will be, yes. You will need to sign before you board the bus.
I root for Georgia Tech, can I go on Dadurday?
Ugh. Fine.
Where is pickup and dropoff?
The Augusta Chapter uses the lower level of Surrey Center as Dadurday basecamp for pickup and dropoff.
